This version names the site's two analytics services, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, and explains Clarity's session recordings, how long each service keeps data and how to opt out.
What We Collect
When you submit a quote request through the contact page or the site's brief form, we collect your email address and a record of the request (subject, deadline and the price quoted) and keep that record for 90 days.
When you use a free tool (such as the thesis statement generator, essay title generator, essay grader, or one of the other free writing generators), the basic result is shown without any sign-up. If you choose an extra, such as an emailed report, we collect your contact email and store a summary of the result, such as a score band or the top suggestions returned. We do not store the text you submit into a tool: that text is processed to generate your result and then discarded, not retained in any log or database.
If you apply to write, edit or tutor for GradeDraft, we keep your application (subjects, style guides, writing sample or statement, and any qualifications you list) for 12 months from your application date, whether or not you are accepted into the writer pool.
How We Use It
We use the information above to respond to your quote request, staff and deliver your order, send order and account updates, evaluate writer, editor and tutor applications, and understand in aggregate which services and tools are used. We never publish a dataset that ties results back to an identifiable person.
Processors
Four categories of processor handle data on our behalf, each under its own privacy terms: our email provider, which sends and receives quote and order messages; Cloudflare, which hosts this site and provides security and content-delivery services; Stripe, which issues and processes invoice payments (card or bank transfer); and two analytics services, Google Analytics 4 (Google) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft), described under Cookies and Analytics below. None of these processors receive the text of your assignment beyond what each needs to do its job. Stripe, for example, sees the amount invoiced, not your assignment brief.
Cookies and Analytics
The site uses two analytics services to see which pages and tools are used and where visitors get stuck: Google Analytics 4, run by Google, and Microsoft Clarity, run by Microsoft. We run no advertising or remarketing tags, and Google signals, an advertising feature of Google Analytics, is off.
What they record. Both services receive the pages you view and events such as clicks on buttons and links, scroll depth, whether a form was started or sent, and tool use, along with your browser, device type and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Clarity also records sessions: how each page looked on your screen and where you moved, clicked and scrolled, which we replay to find where a page confuses visitors or breaks, plus heatmaps built from many visits. When you send a brief, both services receive its reference number (GD-XXXXXX) and service type, which lets us match an order to the visit it came from. The site never sends either service your name, email address, WhatsApp number or the text of your brief.
Masking. Clarity masks everything typed into form fields and tools, whatever its settings, so that text is never uploaded to Microsoft. At the masking level we use, numbers and email addresses shown on a page are masked too.
Cookies. Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and a second whose name starts with _ga_, set to expire after 2 years (many browsers delete them sooner). Clarity sets two first-party cookies, _clck and _clsk, plus cookies on Microsoft's own domains, such as MUID, which Microsoft uses across its sites, including for advertising.
Retention. Google Analytics keeps event-level data for up to 14 months; after that, only aggregated totals remain in its reports. Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days, and for up to 9 months when we mark one as a favorite or Microsoft keeps it in a random sample. Clarity cannot delete one visitor's data on request, so its data leaves on this schedule.
How to opt out. Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) stops your visits from reaching Google Analytics on any site. Clarity honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, and you can also opt out of it on the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page by selecting Microsoft. A content blocker that blocks scripts from googletagmanager.com and clarity.ms stops both. The site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
Your Rights
If you are a California resident, CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. If you are in Canada, PIPEDA gives you the right to access and correct your personal information and to know why it was collected. Under CASL and CAN-SPAM, every marketing email identifies GradeDraft as the sender and includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out and access requests within 10 business days. Retention and Deletion
When you unlock a free tool extra, that unlock is stored in your browser's localStorage for 30 days so you can return to your saved result without re-entering your email. Clearing your browser data, or the 30 days passing, removes that local copy; it does not automatically delete the result summary we hold on our side, which you can request separately.
On request, we purge your data everywhere we hold it, including copies of your quote and order messages in our inbox and any export-sheet or spreadsheet copies our operations team keeps for order tracking. We confirm by email once a purge request is complete.
Children
GradeDraft is intended for high-school students age 13 and older through college, graduate and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact contact@gradedraft.com and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we note it clearly at the top of this page.
