Online exam help: what we do before your exam, and what we never do during it

Online exam help, done right, happens before the exam opens, not during it: a study plan from your syllabus, timed practice tests against your actual format, and live tutoring for whatever is still shaky. Nobody here sits, attends or completes any exam or quiz for you, proctored or not. We never ask for your LMS login, portal password or student ID.

If a proctored course exam is one of several deadlines this week, our homework help hub covers every other subject.

What a proctored exam is, and what lockdown browsers actually check

What is a proctored exam? A proctored exam is a timed test monitored by a person or software to confirm the test-taker is the enrolled student, working alone, without unauthorized material Checked . Course platforms pair it with a webcam check, an ID scan, and often a locked-down browser window; HESI, ATI TEAS, GED and CompTIA run the same idea through their own vendors.

Respondus LockDown Browser is the software layer behind much of it: it locks the exam window, blocks other tabs, copy-paste and printing, often paired with a webcam add-on Checked . Canvas and Blackboard launch it from the exam page; some instructors proctor over Zoom instead. GradeDraft is independent of and not affiliated with ProctorU, Honorlock, Respondus, Canvas, Blackboard, Zoom, HESI, ATI TEAS, GED or CompTIA.

Live proctors, recorded proctors and automated proctoring

Three models cover the market Checked :

Live, recorded and automated proctoring compared
TypeHow it worksWhat it flags
LiveA proctor watches your webcam in real time and can step in mid-testTalking, leaving the frame, a second person in the room
RecordedWebcam and screen record throughout; a reviewer checks the footage after submissionTab switches, audio spikes, a phone on the desk
AutomatedSoftware flags anomalies with no one watching live; a person reviews only the flagged clipsFace out of frame, multiple faces, a locked screen

What you can and cannot have on your desk

Every model expects the same clear desk: photo ID, the exam device, and whatever the instructor names - nothing else Checked . A phone, a second monitor, or outside notes is what most systems flag first; preparation changes whether you need any of it.

The way through a proctored exam is not managing the proctoring - it's arriving prepared enough that it stops mattering.

How to prepare for an online exam in seven days

Online exam help starts with a study plan: it turns "what do I even study" into a schedule, free within 24 hours. Seven days covers a full course exam; certification tests below use the same shape.

Seven-day exam prep plan

  1. Days 1–2: syllabus to topic list. Every graded topic since the last exam, sorted into "solid," "shaky" and "new since last time."
  2. Days 3–5: timed practice sets. Practice questions run under the exam's real time budget - the clock is often the actual difficulty, not the content.
  3. Days 6–7: review the misses. Every missed question gets a worked solution and a one-line reason, plus one more pass on the shaky list from Day 1.

Day 1–2: syllabus to topic list

Pull the syllabus, the graded homework list and any study guide, and sort every topic into the three piles above. A "shaky" topic gets a worked example next; a "new" topic gets a first pass before a timed set.

Day 3–5: timed practice sets

This is where the mock exam earns its name: same number of questions, same time limit, same mix of easy and hard, built from your own material. An online maths exam set follows the same rule - calculator and no-calculator sections timed like the real thing.

Day 6–7: review the misses

A missed question without a reason repeats on the real exam. Each miss gets a one-line cause - misread the question, wrong formula, ran out of time - and the shaky topics from Day 1 get one last timed pass.

Timed practice tests and mock exams

A practice test only teaches something if the clock is real - the reason the algebra item below runs against a 90-second clock, not an open one.

Timed algebra item: a 90-second budget

Item. Solve for xx: 3(2x4)=5x+73(2x - 4) = 5x + 7. Time budget: 90 seconds, a typical per-item pace on a 60-item, 90-minute mock exam.

  1. Distribute (15 sec). 6x12=5x+76x - 12 = 5x + 7.
  2. Collect the variable (20 sec). Subtract 5x5x from both sides: x12=7x - 12 = 7.
  3. Isolate xx (15 sec). Add 12 to both sides: x=19x = 19.
  4. Check it (30 sec, if time allows). 3(2(19)4)=3(34)=1023(2(19)-4) = 3(34) = 102 and 5(19)+7=1025(19)+7 = 102 - both sides match.

Total: about 80 seconds, with 10 in reserve - the check in step 4 is the first thing to skip under pressure, and the first to restore once the pace feels normal.

Every mock exam here returns a worked solution for each item, not just a score - whether it's an online maths exam, a reading section, or a course exam from your professor's own bank. Statistics-heavy formats get the same treatment on statistics homework help.

Live tutoring: $45 an hour, $55 for AP level

Live tutoring is scheduled screen-share time with a tutor who knows your course's exam format - the kind of online exam help that targets what your last practice test missed. Standard courses run $45 an hour; AP-level courses run $55.

A session runs 50 minutes: that week's shaky topics from your study plan, worked live, with you solving the next problem while the tutor watches. Sessions book individually or across exam week, at the same hourly rate.

The week before an exam, tutoring pairs best with the seven-day plan: Day 3–5 timed sets produce the misses, and the hour goes straight to those instead of reviewing the whole course.

Certification tests: HESI, TEAS, GED and CompTIA prep

Certification and entrance exams get the same online exam help, on the same seven-day shape, fixed by the test. Each is a licensure exam, not a course final. GradeDraft runs an exam preparatory track for four of them: HESI, TEAS, GED and CompTIA - practice sets and tutoring, never the exam itself.

HESI A2 and ATI TEAS (nursing entrance)

The HESI A2 and the ATI TEAS are the two entrance exams nursing programs use most, and a program names one, not both Checked . ATI TEAS covers four fixed, separately timed sections - Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage. HESI A2 draws from a wider bank - math, reading, vocabulary, grammar, often anatomy and physiology or biology - and the program picks which count Checked . Math leans on ratios, dosage-style word problems and basic statistics; see z-table and statistics basics for reading a distribution.

GED subject tests

The GED covers four subject tests - Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies - passed individually, not as one combined score Checked . The math subtest draws on the algebra and geometry fundamentals in geometry help, plus ratio and percent questions inside the other subjects' passages.

CompTIA A+ and Security+

CompTIA A+ requires passing two exams, Core 1 and Core 2, each covering half the hardware-and-software syllabus Checked . Security+ is a single exam on security concepts, threats and architecture, not a hands-on lab Checked . Both run as a closed-book, timed exam through a testing center or an online proctored exam option - the proctoring models above apply either way. A graded programming component in the broader course is covered by physics homework help.

How much exam help costs

This is what online exam help costs at GradeDraft: the same rates as homework help generally, plus a free study plan with your first order.

Exam help questions

Do you take exams for students?

No. Nobody here logs into your course, portal or testing platform, and nobody takes your exam, quiz or proctored test for you - the searches behind "take my exam for me" describe an offer we do not make. What we do instead: a study plan from your syllabus, timed mock exams matched to your test's real format, and live tutoring at $45 an hour ($55 AP-level) before the exam opens.

How fast can you build a study plan?

A study plan built from your syllabus, or a stated certification test name, arrives within 24 hours: a topic list sorted into solid, shaky and new material, scaled to however many days are left. Fewer than seven days still gets a plan; it compresses the timed-practice block and moves straight to the misses that matter most.

Do you offer mock exams?

Yes. A mock exam is built from your course material or a certification test's published format - HESI, TEAS, GED or CompTIA - run under the real time limit, with a worked solution for every item, not just a score. Pricing follows the practice-set rate: from $25 per item, quoted after review.

Can a tutor help during the week before my exam?

Yes - that week is when online exam help is most useful: the Day 3–5 timed sets show exactly what's still shaky, and the tutoring hour goes straight to those instead of reviewing the whole course. Standard tutoring runs $45 an hour, AP-level $55.
